Paintin’ the Town

by

(Buck Tohill, circa 1978)

Oh late in the evening, when the sun has gone down,

You’re gonna find me out a runnin’ around

Just a painting the town and having a good time,

Oh late in the evening, while the stars brightly shine.

Oh why did you go and leave me here?

I want so much to have you near,

Oh now late in the evening when the sun has gone down,

You’re gonna find me, just a paintin’ the town.

Oh late in the evening, way past sundown,

When the stars are a’shining ‘way above the town,

You’re gonna find me in some bar downtown,

Just a laughin’ it up, with the tears streaming down.

Oh why did you go and leave me alone

I feel so bad since you’ve gone.

Oh late in the evening, way past sundown,

You’re gonna find me, Lord, a painting the town.
